I cannot pray Our, if my faith has no room for others and their need.
I cannot pray Father, if I do not demonstrate this relationship to God in my daily living.
I cannot pray who art in heaven, if all of my interests and pursuits are in earthly things.
I cannot pray hallowed be thy name, if I am not striving, with God's help, to be holy.
I cannot pray thy kingdom come, if I am unwilling to accept God's rule in my life.
I cannot pray thy will be done, if I am unwilling or resentful of having it in my life.
I cannot pray on earth as it is in Heaven, unless I am truly ready to give myself to God's service here and now.
I cannot pray give us this day our daily bread, without expending honest effort for it, or if I would withhold from my neighbor the bread that I receive.
I cannot pray forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, if I continue to harbor a grudge against anyone.
I cannot pray lead us not into temptation, if I deliberately choose to remain in a situation where I am likely to be tempted.
I cannot pray deliver us from evil, if I am not prepared to fight evil with my life and my prayer.
I cannot pray thine is the kingdom, if I am unwilling to obey the King.
I cannot pray thine is the power and the glory, if I am seeking power for myself and my own glory first.
I cannot pray forever and ever, if I am too anxious about each day's affairs.
I cannot pray Amen, unless I honestly say, "Cost what it may, this is my prayer."

YOUTH COLLECTING WATER FOR SILOAM MISSION
The National Youth Project (youth homelessness in Canada) will be wrapping up this summer during the CLAY gathering. We are asking for your help as our SLAW Youth Group participates in this project by supporting the local needs of Siloam Mission. We will be collecting cases of bottled water - which are needed, especially during this HOT summer. If you would like to help us out, please bring a case (or 2) of bottled water (plain, not flavoured) to the Abundant Life parking lot on Friday morning, August 20th at 10:00 a.m. Let's see if we can fill more than one truck full! For more information, or alternate drop off please contact Lisa van Dijk

CLAY 2021 On line event August 20-22 2021
SLAW Youth will be gathering in person in the Abundant Life parking lot for this year’s gathering. Some parts will be online, and other activities are planned in between the online sessions (including delivering water to Siloam Mission). A video “sending” our youth and leaders to CLAY will be available Sunday, Aug. 8th on our Facebook page.
OUTDOOR WORSHIP DATES:
We are going to try having worship outdoors on Sunday, August 15th, 22nd and 29th. The plan is also to live stream it on Facebook as usual. It will be bring your own seating (lawn chair or blanket) and bring your own (non-alcoholic) beverage (water, coffee, etc.). Also, consider bringing an umbrella or canopy for shade, as our beautiful tree is not doing very well.
Because we need to have a list of those who are present, please phone, email or text Joanne Janzen to register your intention to attend. You can still add your name on the Sunday, but it helps if we know how many people to expect.
Cell: 204-223-5187. Email: joannejanzen007@mymts.net
Also, volunteers will be needed before, during, and after the service. If you would be willing to help, please let Pastor Lynne know.
If it is raining, please stay at home. We will then live stream worship indoors as usual.
DO YOU HAVE A HEART FOR REFUGEES?
For many years, St. Luke’s Zion has been a member of NEST (the North End Sponsorship Team), an ecumenical group that supports refugees coming to Winnipeg. We are currently in need of at least one representative to serve on the NEST board. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Pastor Lynne.
