Pastor Lynne will share two presentations: Part 1 on Sunday, Oct. 27th, and Part 2 or Sunday, Nov. 17th.  These will be two different presentations exploring some of the places and people of the Holy Land.  Each one will be over coffee after worship.

All are welcome to attend one or both!

NEST:

A warm and big Thank You to Jim Mair, NEST and to all who organized and took part in the “surprise!” celebration in recognition of my 30 years with NEST at St. Luke’s Zion Church on September 22nd! It hardly seems that time has gone by.

Thank You for the gift of the beautiful and specially drawn certificate of appreciation and the lovely hand crafted black fabric purse (world embroidered).

It all began when I met our first refugee Keo Chau (27) and her daughter June (5) at the airport on April 15, 1992 via Hong Kong. I first saw them as they were coming down the escalator from the flight deck of the airport, hand in hand. We became fast friends, sharing in birthdays and holidays.

Keo has been happily married to Duc Nguyen and they have 2 daughters Duyen (U of M year IV) and Quyen (grade 7). June received her Education Degree in 2010 and taught Kindergarten and Grade 5 and has since given up class teaching and now works along with Social Workers to help children with learning disabilities.

Above all, I treasure the Friends, Refugees and NEST Members I have met and come to know and love. I have not been as active, but support NEST through prayer and donations.

Our Lord’s rich blessings of health and joy to all.
