WORLD DAY OF PRAYER:
St. Luke’s Zion will be hosting the 2019 World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 1st, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.
Please mark this on your calendar and come out to help us celebrate the country of Slovenia. The service program is prepared and adapted for use in Canada by the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada.
Refreshments will be served following the service.

If you are in grades 2 and 3, it is your turn to go to summer camp! Spend the weekend learning about God, swimming, playing, singing and making new friends. Newer discounted cost: $85 + HST
2019 GRADES 4-6 CAMP - JULY 7-12
It is finally your time to spend a whole week at camp! You will learn new camp skills, meet new friends, experiencing renewal and being transformed as a community. Registration cost: $385 + HST
2019 GRADES 7-10 CAMP - JUNE 30 – JULY 5
Spend a week making new friends, having adventures at camp, experiencing renewal and being transformed as a community. An amazing week at camp is waiting for you this summer. Registration cost: $385 + HST

LUM:
Dear congregation, just a note to say that due to limited table space and the large volume of used clothing that has been coming in, the Urban will no longer be accepting used clothing donations at the Urban. Thank you so much for all of the previous donations of clothing that the Urban community was so happy to receive!
However, the Urban still welcomes: clean previously worn winter jackets with working zippers, used backpacks, socks in good condition, and freshly washed, dried and folded used bedding (sheets, pillowcases, blankets, towels, etc.).
Siloam Mission can always use clothing donations and they can be dropped off at the 303 Stanley St. loading dock from Mon. - Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Urban Current Immediate Needs:
FOOD ITEMS: The Urban maintains a pantry. For those who attend the Urban, who are in a sudden difficult circumstance, food packages/items are given as needed. This pantry also serves as a reserve for community meal preparation. We welcome gifts for food or gift cards.
IN HIGH DEMAND: Canned meats: tuna/salmon, ham, chicken, corned beef, Klik or Spam, Canned vegetables: peas, corn, green and yellow beans, pork & beans, Pasta sauce, Pasta: egg noodle, macaroni, spaghetti, Peanut butter, Jam / jelly, fruit cocktail, small tins of mandarin oranges, Pudding cups, Juice boxes - individual size, Cookies, Cereal, Instant coffee (small jars) /tea, Ground coffee for Urban coffee urn.
OTHER ITEMS: Canned soups, Canned tomatoes, Kraft dinner, Juice boxes – 1 litre, Rice, Soup bases/broths (liquid or cubes) (chicken, beef, vegetable), Boxed scalloped potatoes, Powdered juice mix, Graham crackers / Soup (or other) crackers, Mayonnaise, Vegetable oil, Baking powder for bannock, Cheez Whiz, Baking items for cookies: (chocolate chips, raisins, flour, baking powder, baking soda), Cards and cribbage boards, Plastic shopping bags and re-usable shopping bags
CLOTHING ITEMS: Winter Clothing - jackets, hoodies with working zippers, winter boots, Hats, Scarves, Gloves / Mitts, Socks (Heavier Wool Ones Preferred)
HYGIENE KITS: Toothpaste, Tooth Brushes, Deodorant, Razors, Kleenex, Soap, Shampoo, Lotion, Sanitary pads / tampons / panty liners
Also needed: plastic grocery bags; empty margarine & yogurt containers. Coffee for the coffee urn and tea are welcomed donations as the coffee urn and tea pots are always on here for those who attend!

NEW GROUP!!!:
We have started a Young Adults Group (est. Sept. 2018) for Abundant Life, Sherwood Park & St Luke's Zion (These are the same churches as our shared youth ministry group - just one more way shared ministry rocks!)
A Group For Friends 😊
This is for people aged 18+ university and career-oriented people, up to age 30 (ish)
We will be meeting about once every 6 weeks. Watch the bulletin and newsletter for up-coming events.

Palliative Manitoba offers monthly grief seminars hosted by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Cropo Funeral Chapel. The seminars are free and are open to the general public.
