LUTHER VILLAGE:
Urgent Disaster Assistance for Luther Village!!!
Dear friends of Luther Village,
We need your help to recover from a terrible storm that has shut down Luther Village.
For the safety of our campers, we made the difficult decision to cancel all reservations for the season, including the Manitoba Northwestern Ontario Synod Thanksgiving Youth Retreat. This year would have been the 50th year this retreat was held at Luther Village. We are saddened to see this impact on the important ministry of Luther Village, but are hopeful that with your help, we can recover, repair, rebuild and re-open camp to continue God's work!
We are still in the process of obtaining quotes, but it is clear that it will cost tens of thousands of dollars to simply patch the roads and assess the stability of the affected hills. A longer term solution to improve drainage and use stronger road materials will cost significantly more. These large and unexpected expenses are not within our already stretched budget (we're also dealing with expensive and urgent repairs to the kitchen and dining hall that are expected to exceed $15,000).
We need your help! Please:
1) Pray for Luther Village
2) Share this message with others
3) Visit our Canada Help's page here and consider how you can help us financially
4) If you are a Civil, Structural and/or Geotechnical Engineer willing to lend us your expertise, please contact us
We are hopeful that with your help, we can recover, repair, rebuild and re-open camp again to continue this important ministry!
Thank You
