LUTHER VILLAGE UPDATE:
As things are winding down at Luther Village for the last couple weeks of our 51st season, there is still time for you to get out here and enjoy the incredible Fall colours. Inquire about renting a cabin or camping.
We have moved the office back into our space with the lovely people at Church of the Cross and the Urban at 560 Arlington St in Winnipeg. You can find us there at #204.783.3337. If you are ever in the area, stop in for coffee.
If you haven't spent time on our Facebook Page checking out the pictures of our fabulous summer ministry, do so now. Like us on Facebook for regular updates (Luther Village Camp).
If you forgot to purchase your Luther Village 50 Years of History book, you can pick one up from the office in Winnipeg (or at camp until we shut down). It is an incredible book with the first 50 years of history and pictures, written by Lee Sander, Kim Scherger and many stories and anecdotes from the Luther Village community.
THE URBAN:
Welcome to the Urbans Second Craft & Bake Sale and Bannock Competition. Start your Christmas Shopping early and remember, for your stocking stuffers, we will have our tasty Urban Chili-Bean Soup and Hempseed Bannock Mix for sale Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 560 Arlington Street in the Basement of Lutheran Church of the Cross.
See Poster on the Bulletin Board for more details
The United Way Campaign is starting soon and we just want to remind people that you can donate directly to the Urban by adding us to the end of the United Way Donation form and the money will come to us. There is a spot at the end of the contribution form which allows you to add registered charities that aren't part of the United Way as they have told us we are too small to be on this list.
We would appreciate the retired members of our congregations, to pass this information to their employed children and grandchildren, who would welcome the opportunity to assist us in this manner. Many of them have young families and time is scarce, so this still provides them with the means of helping us out. It is very important for all of us to always remember, that we are all a part of this ministry and as the Pastor and Ministry Manager, pray that you will pass this information on and even use it yourself.
Our full name is:
Lutheran Urban Ministry Corporation

AUTUMN:

Our Pastor, Our Shepherd
The Lord gave us a shepherd, we're no longer in want.
She helps us find God's green pastures, she leads us along still waters, and she is used by God to restore our souls.
She guides us by straight pathways, bringing honor to God's name.
When we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we are not afraid because she walks with us.
Her teaching and correction comfort and strengthen us.
She helps us stand strong in the face of evil.
She is the oil of healing and health in our souls.
Through her God has overflowed our lives with blessing.
Goodness and mercy are sure to follow us all our days, and we are secure in eternal life because the Lord gave us a shepherd.
