New and gently used sweaters urgently requested
Do you have some extra sweaters taking up space in your closet? See that they get put to good use this winter. Canadian Lutheran World Relief is calling on Canadians to donate new or gently used sweaters for Syrian refugees living in the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan. Thousands of people in the camp are bracing for another cold, wet winter. Many still live in tents and lack warm clothing after having fled Syria’s brutal civil war with little more than the clothes on their backs.
Men’s, women’s and children’s sweaters of all sizes are needed. All donations must be on their way to CLWR’s Winnipeg warehouse no later than October 31. Please drop off your sweaters at your local Lutheran church no later than October 27. Our goal is to ship 10,000+ sweaters. More info can be found on CLWR’s website (www.clwr.org) or by contacting Patrick at patrick@clwr.mb.ca or 1.800.661.2597 (locally at 204.694.5602).
