A government release indicates that the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) role in the new department will advance the government’s desire to have international aid “advance Canada’s long term prosperity and security.”
“CIDA has been a valuable partner of CLWR,” said Robert Granke, CLWR's executive director. “We have made a difference together around the world for almost 50 years. As an example, since 1999, the value of our CIDA-approved programs has been $34 million.
“CLWR will study and monitor the situation closely to determine how these changes might affect our programming into the future.”
The government has neither confirmed nor denied reports that there may be a change in their 20 countries of focus to reflect security concerns and international trade and economic development priorities.

Stamps for the Canadian Bible Society
A big THANKS go out to everyone who contributed used stamps over the past several months. Recently all the stamps were delivered to the office of the Canadian Bible Society (CBS) on St. Mary’s Rd.. The total donation was approximately four pounds of used stamps which represents a total of four bibles. These bibles will be distributed by the CBS to those people in the greatest need.
CHURCH YARD SALE
...........'Our thoughts will undoubtedly turn to spring and spring cleaning once all the snow has melted. This is just another friendly reminder that St. Luke’s Zion will hold a yard sale on Saturday, June 15th, which turns out to be the last weekend of spring. Any saleable items, that you wish to donate to the yard sale, can be brought to the church starting on Sunday, June 9th. The collection of items will occur all week leading up to the sale. The success of our church yard sale depends not only on the many volunteers who help with all the sorting, pricing, packing, setting up, selling and clean-up but also with the many people who donate items to be sold. Without these items to sell, there would be no yard sale. All funds raised this year will go towards the purchase of a new computer for the office, a trailer for the riding lawn mower and the youth of the church!'.......

Bible Study
There has been a request for Bible study once or twice a month on a Saturday morning (10:30) for those who cannot make it during the week. Those who attend other Bible studies would also be welcome. Here are some possible studies that are currently available: Parables, Miracles, Blowing in the Wind (Holy Spirit), Jonah and Ruth, Faith and Freedom, Romans, Decisions and Dreams, Values and Vocation, Intimacy and Identity, Endtimes, or Peacemaking.
Thus, two questions for you: Who would be interested in coming, and what topic(s) interest you the most? The same topics are possible for the Wednesday noon Bible study, which will resume within the next few weeks.
