COMMON PRAYER
Lord, help us to live so foolishly for you that we draw onlookers and those who would deride us. And while they watch and mock, change all our hearts that we might learn to laugh at the foolishness this world calls normal and run away with the circus that is real life.
Amen.
ANNUAL MEETING
Our Annual Meeting for St. Luke’s Zion is scheduled for Sunday, February 10th following worship and lunch.
THE MITTEN BASKET
In December 2012, many knitted items were distributed to the outreach programs at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Urban Mission and at our food bank. A very big thanks to all the people who knitted for us last year and to those who donated wool.
For this upcoming year there will be two more outreach programs that I plan to give items to. So, hopefully we can count on the same people to continue to make items for us, and maybe there will be a few new people able to contribute items for this project.
I am hoping that the members will consider donating wool or else making a monetary donation for this project, (please mark on your envelope, SPECIAL – Mitten Basket). Some of the knitters do purchase their own supplies. If you have any questions please talk to Linda after church or call me 204-632-0093.
THE TRINITY FOOD PANTRY
thanks you for your continued support of this ministry. The annual Christmas Dinner was a great event. Clients were served a full turkey dinner and all the children received a Christmas gift from Santa. The clients also received their Christmas Cheer Hampers including a turkey or chicken. The Food Pantry is already planning the March Hamper Day when every family will receive an Easter Ham. Fifty five families receive substantial monthly food hampers which are supplemented by fresh produce and milk from Winnipeg Harvest. The cash giftsare used to make up the short fall or to purchase additional quantities of dry goods. Children's clothing is always needed. Many thanks.
