THANK YOU to the youth and leaders who helped prepare and serve a meal for The Urban (our inner city outreach ministry). Together with Christ and Abundant Life youth, we hosted a spaghetti meal for over 100 people in August…all shopping, cooking, and serving done by the youth. Way to go!
In October 2010 Abundant Life, Christ and St. Luke’s Zion Lutheran Churches began a partnership to create a full time youth worker position for all three congregations. The Steering Committee for this position and the three congregational councils are excited and are working to see this continue through 2012. And so am I! Some of our youth events are held individually with St. Luke’s Zion youth and some are held jointly with all three groups. Check out what’s coming up:

ReCall: Living Mission in a Consumer's World
This Canadian Mission conference is being held right here in Winnipeg from Nov. 15-17. It starts Tuesday evening and finishes Thursday around 4 pm. Pastor Lynne plans on attending, but it would be great if one or two others from St. Luke's Zion could come along. Please speak to Pastor Lynne as soon as possible (and before Oct. 15th) if you are interested in attending.
