Newsletter Items Deadline
Items for the July newsletter should be given to Trish Rosolowich or emailed to trishroso@shaw.ca no later than June 22nd, 2011.
Due to the long weekend in May and how the dates are situated on the calendar, the request is a day or so earlier than usual.
Congregational Picnic
The picnic is planned for Sunday, June 12th following the worship service. This marks the end of the year for our Sunday School, as well as an opportunity for fellowship for the whole congregation. This year’s picnic will have a Mexican theme, so if you have any sombreros or other Mexican clothing at home, here’s a great opportunity to wear it! Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for outdoor seating J
Mission as Hope Appeal
On Sunday, May 8th, those who were at worship received a Mission as Hope information sheet in their bulletins. This is essentially a “wish list” for the Manitoba Northwestern Ontario (MNO) Synod – mission initiatives that are either ongoing or new projects. All of the projects listed will only happen as funding is available (thus, the reason for the appeal…). Those who wish to support the Mission as Hope appeal for 2011 can do so at any time. More information sheets, as well as special envelopes, are available in the narthex of the church.
Luther Village Camp
Grants are available for children and youth from grades 2 through 12 to go to camp at Luther Village this summer. This is provided by the congregation through the Kicenko bequest. Priority will be given to children who would not otherwise have the chance to go to camp.
Please keep this in mind either for your own family or for other people whom you know, and contact Pastor Lynne if you are interested. Camp brochures for 2011 are available at the church.
Thank you!
As of May 15th, $1192.28 had been donated towards the purchase of Evangelical Lutheran Worship. The original cost was $2728.25. Thank you for your generosity!
