Confirmation Speech by Kayleigh Armstrong “Because I believe in Jesus my life is different in the following ways: I don’t steal. Once I was at the mall with one of my friends, we were looking in an accessories store and my friend found this necklace that she really loved, but she didn’t have enough money for it so she decided to take it. Later that day we were looking in another store and I saw a shirt that I wanted to get but I had to save some money, so my friend told me to steal it. I thought about what Jesus would think if I took it and the kind of life he lived: sinless. I knew I could never be perfect, but this was one thing that I knew He wouldn’t be proud or happy about, so I left without the shirt. When I bought it two weeks later I felt like I earned that shirt.
Another way my life is different is that I try not be jealous of other peoples possessions. I know that God gives me what I need to live and it would be rude of me to want anything more. Instead I’m happy for that person, and it’s much better to feel happy than jealous. Finally my life is different because I’m thankful for what Jesus did for us, he died to save us from our sins and when I’m feeling sad or upset I think about that and things don’t seem so bad.”
Confirmation Speech by Amanda Kunkel “Because I believe in Jesus, my life is different than it would be without that faith. Here’s how it’s different.
Life as a believer in Jesus has made me different because I am very nice to everybody. I try to be forgiving and helpful. Some people in my school that are not believers in Jesus bully, tease and are mean to people. I find when you’re a believer and go to church your life is changed because you are more understanding and loving to the people around you. When you’re a believer you are honest, trusting, you obey the commandments and when you do sin you can pray to God and go to church and ask for forgiveness for your sins. On the other hand a non-believer would sin more and not pray for God to forgive them and that would make God unhappy. I am happy that I am a believer and I am also very proud to go to church, to spread the word of God. Thank you.”
Confirmation Speech by Mady Nernberg “Because I believe in Jesus, my life is different than it would be without that faith. It is different because I have learned that when I fail He is always there. I know that He is there for me in time of need, and loneliness. When I hurt myself or just need someone there. He is there to help me through tough times.
He is there in not just rough times but good ones too. He is there in times of learning, and moments of fun.
Believing in Jesus has given me hope, peace, wisdom, and strength. It has also given me love for others, allowing me the privilege of amazing friends and wonderful family.
Believing in Jesus has helped free me from anger, guilt, and bitterness because Jesus forgives me for my sins, and leads me to what’s right, not wrong.
My life would definitely be different without him in more ways than one because I know that I will always have someone there for me, to help me on my way because Jesus is my Lord.”
Confirmation Speech by Jade Thom “I believe in Jesus for too many reasons to name. He makes my life better knowing I can count on him to be there when I need. My life is different than it would be if I was a non-believer because I don’t think I would have as many values and I wouldn’t appreciate as much as I do. I would see the world differently as a place that just appeared one day. I would see all the bad, but Jesus shows me all of the good. He shows me the beauty of every situation, the positive opposed to the negative. Without faith my life would seem out of order and control, not having someone there to talk to or just to listen to me when I need help with anything and everything, good or bad. I would be horrible. I have friends that are believers and non-believers; one (the non-believer) shows almost no happiness towards many things. The believer though has the same situations to be dealing with in life shows a positive and fun attitude towards most everything. Sometimes I find myself sinning by not loving others and thinking about myself and feeling sorry for myself. Those times I have to pinch myself and think “What the heck are you complaining about!” Look at everything you have: a beautiful wonderful family, health, and friends. What more could I ask for!” Furthermore, I think look at all Jesus gave to me and did for me. The negative part is what I fear my life would be like if I didn’t believe. The gift to believe and be blessed by God and to have everyone around me is truly a dream come true. It’s wonderful – God`s gift to me, one that I don’t deserve but still have. I couldn’t be happier! Thank you. ” J
LADIES’ GROUP
Thank you to everyone who helped with the Chilli Luncheon at the Urban. Helping to feed the poor and the disadvantaged is a project that has its challenges. Volunteering to help people in our community who, for one reason or another, need the outreach of care and concern is work that we are called to do. And the banner is in process and needs finishing. This is a project that bonds us in friendship in the hope of providing an extra special touch in our sanctuary. There is always room for more hands to help.

- Future Sponsorships – We have 5 upcoming full sponsorships totalling 20 people (4 single moms, 12 children, 3 siblings of one of the moms and a single young man). Over $100,000.00 has been raised to cover settlement costs and we will need, as usual, caregivers.
