Faithful God,
You long for your children to seek you at all times, and not only when we are in need of something. Grant us the faith that reaches for you above anything else, and does not waver when life becomes challenging. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Prayers of Intercession
L: We pray for the church, the world, and all those in need, praying “God of abundance,” and responding “Hear our prayer”.
A brief silence.
L: Gracious God, you teach us that all people are loved by you, regardless of the colour of their skin. Teach us also to challenge racism wherever it is found, both in your church and in the world around us, and make us faithful witnesses of your love. God of abundance,
C: Hear our Prayer.
L: Comfort all who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child. Reassure them that you hold their loved ones in your loving arms, and that they shall one day be united in your holy kingdom through Jesus Christ. God of abundance,
C: Hear our Prayer.
L: Strengthen farmers and those who work the land, especially when they suffer losses which endanger their livelihood. Give us respect for the resources of this earth that we might use them wisely. God of abundance,
C: Hear our Prayer.
L: Love of material wealth only damages our spirit and dulls our compassion for those who are less fortunate. Unite us with all your people and use our lives to bring about healing wherever it is needed. Be with those who need a special measure of your grace today, especially… God of abundance,
C: Hear our Prayer.
L: We give thanks for all your saints, who have taught us what it means to live as your children. Keep us rooted and grounded in your love, that we might share in your table of grace with all the saints. God of abundance,
C: Hear our Prayer.
Here other petitions may be offered.
L: You remain faithful, O Lord, even when our faith wavers. Hear our prayers and open our hearts to all the ways you are calling us to serve, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
