LADIES GROUP
We have begun a project to help out at LUM with an afternoon meal.  Pastor Lynne will be leading the worship time on Sunday May 31 and we will be helping to provide the lunch after that.  We would like to make a giant pot of chili.  There is a sign-up sheet in the back of the church.  Please sign up with what you are able to provide.  There are usually 60 - 70 people.  The ladies will get together on April 25th for a lunch meeting.  Watch the bulletin for a time and place.

TO THE MEMBERS OF ST. LUKE’S ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH
102 Thank You(s) for your good wishes on my century and two birthday.  I enjoyed meeting you each individually and speaking with each one, especially the Sunday School children.
God bless you with good health and keep you in his care.  Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto us.
Sincerely, Winnie Gorner

Below is one of my favourite prayers.

A TIME FOR COMFORT PRAYER

We have a friend in God.  He loves us and watches over us and sends down his angels to guide us and keep us all the days and nights of our lives.  We have a constant companion in God, who never leaves our sides, and who is with us forever in times of trouble and in times of joy.  Amen.

102ND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
We would very much like to thank the many people who helped us in celebrating Mary (Winnie) Gorner’s 102nd birthday on March 8th.  For all of you who helped us to shop, decorate, provided food and cake, prepared the food and served, entertained us and helped clean up we thank you so much.
Also, a big thank you to all who brought food items for our church food bank or made a monetary donation in honour of Winnie’s birthday.  It was a very positive and enjoyable event, which many of us will remember for a long time.

CLWR
At our annual meeting, more information was requested regarding the sale of Canadian Lutheran World Relief’s building on Kingsbury Ave.  To date, this is what I’ve been able to find out:  Plans are to move the CLWR offices into the same space as the ELCIC offices in Portage Place.  An alternate site will be sought for a distribution centre and for Four Corners Alternative Trade.  When more information is available, it will be passed on to you.
 Pastor Lynne
