CAMEROON UPDATE:

Welcome home to Bishop Elaine and Rick Sauer and Ben and Susan Nickel. Their time meeting with the women pastors in Cameroon and with Fanta Gagnone and the orphan program out of the Protestant Hospital was incredibly fruitful.  We have just heard that Pastor Jack and Val Frederick have now safely arrived in Cameroon.  Jack will be doing some work with the Cross and Crown English congregation in N’gaoundéré and Val is busy organizing the 10th Anniversary commemoration of the Orphan program that our MNO Synod supports through congregational and Sunday School gifts and through the "Gifts from the Heart" program.

ELCIC:

ELCIC is seeking a part-time Office Assistant. This is a .8 FTE position which includes pension, health and dental benefits, as well as contributions to a continuing education plan. This position will remain posted until it is filled. A link to the posting can be found here: http://elcic.ca/Leadership/Employment-Opportunities/Job-Postings.cfm

MNO SYNOD:

Our synod is hosting the 2017 National Church convention July 6–8, (Thursday to Saturday) at the University of Manitoba. This is in keeping with the new convention format, fewer delegates, no banquet and delegate departures on Saturday rather than Sunday.

However, volunteers are required to flesh out the Local Arrangement Committee (LAC) and to provide support for the many convention activities. We currently hold the convention every two years and the synods alternate hosting the event. Given the two year rotation, the format for support and running the convention has been established and the volunteers will be well briefed for their chosen activity.

Volunteer positions for LAC:

Vice-chair                    Secretary              Office

Head Steward             Head Usher          Registration

Information Desk        Transportation

Sub-committee chairpersons      Worship Offering Counter

Consider volunteering and meet new acquaintances and possibly old friends. Experience the depth and commitment of your fellow church members as they work to move the church forward.
